Progress in Shangai

In Shangai, near the Dong Jia Du Fabric Market, there once was a vibrant Shanganese neighbourhood filled with Majong parlours, restaurants and street vendors. For progress sake it has all been torn down and it's people relocated to the suburbs, in order to build luxury high rises for China's growing upper class.

It is now a barren land, filled with dust and noise. Nothing has been spared, expect for a Catholic Church, which refused to budge faced with pressure from legislators and investors.
